Tour № 1. "Along the cities of the Great Silk Road".
Empires towered and fell into decay. Sciences and crafts blossomed.
As a black tornado, were carried by on the blessed ground of a horde
of overseas conquerors. And again revived camel trading roads,
and there were along them cities and settlements, well-groomed
gardens and arable lands turned green - about all it carefully
store memory ancient walls of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva.
Samarkand - the coeval of Babylon and Thebes, Athenes and Rome -
city connected to names of oustanding scientists, writers,
masters - jewelers of the Ancient East, capital of extensive
Empire of Timur. Of it remind amazing on beauty magnificent
monuments of medieval architecture.
Only in one Bukhara are located about 140 monuments of the
ancient architecture, many of them - are unique.
From all regions globe, for thousand kilometers people go
to admire unique beauty of mausoleum Samonids - a masterpiece
of town-planning IX - X centuries.
Nobody seems to know exactly how old this ancient city is,
though the story goes that Khiva was founded by none other
than Shem, the son of Noah (of "and the Ark" fame); at the very
least, the city dates back to the 7th century, and probably
much earlier. Despite its seemingly romantic history as a
Silk Road oasis, the city became most notable as Central Asia's
biggest slave trade center.
